A Regular Day
OpeningAs lifeguards we are usually at the water park at around 9:00-10:00 a.m. because the park opens at 10:00-11:00 a.m. on weekdays and weekends. During this time we are told the days rotation we turn the water on for some of the slides and then we "test" them (this is more for fun than anything else). We then get our tubes and get to our places right before the park opens.

MiddayThis part of the day is undoubtedly the most busy and exhausting part of the day. This involves not only being outside in 100+ degree weather but also having a somewhat personable demeanor at all times, if you look anything but thrilled to push some kid down a slide their parents will complain about your face to a supervisor.

ClosingFinal rotation; the last thirty minutes of the day the quality of your time spent on stand for the last thirty minutes of the day varies wildly depending on what stand you end up at. In order the best and worst spots to end the day are at: Break; Your day ends thirty minutes before everyone else and it is wonderful. Dispatch positions; You are at the top of a slide and you just need to tell people how to ride the slide and when they are allowed to go down, its pretty easy. On stand: These are all spots where you may be required to jump in and save some schmuck two minutes before the park closes and have to drive home drenched to the bone, not fun, its happened to me before. Kiddie Rides; Kiddie rides are not great places to be in general so yeah they're at the bottom of this list.
